On May 27, the AI for Education: Full-Chain Industry-Academia Collaboration Forum took place in Wuzhong, Suzhou. Co-hosted by ASI Global and the Suzhou Innovation Research Institute of Nanjing University, the event brought together Nobel Laureate, educators, scientists, and industry professionals to examine how artificial intelligence is redefining the future of learning through deeper collaboration across sectors.

  • Suzhou: A Crossroads of Tradition and Innovation

Situated in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta, the Wuzhong District in Suzhou blends a rich cultural heritage with a rapidly evolving technological landscape. Its unique location makes it an ideal place to explore new approaches to education that integrate academic research, real-world applications, and emerging technologies.

We’re committed to advancing AI in both education and application,” said Mr. Zhenjie Han, Director of the Suzhou Innovation Research Institute of Nanjing University. “Our goal is to turn innovation into impact, moving scientific progress from the lab into learning environments and real-world practice.

  • ASI Global: Building the AI + Education Ecosystem

ASI Global has long focused on leveraging AI to enhance learning, and through deep collaborations with institutions such as the University of Cambridge, it continues to explore new models for integrating intelligent technologies into education.

At ASI Global, we’re developing a ‘1+3+N’ full-chain AI + Education ecosystem that supports deeper learning, interdisciplinary thinking, and scientific literacy,” said Mr. Edison Yan, Executive Director of ASI Global. “Specifically, since the establishment of ASI Global, we’ve worked to build an international platform for integrating academic research, interdisciplinary innovation, and future-oriented talent cultivation. We believe that our LUMINAI Development Framework will help high-potential students build advanced scientific and technological capabilities, while the Univ.AI Platform will integrate intelligent systems research with real-world educational practice. With this framework now expanding to Suzhou, we’re taking the next step in shaping education for the intelligent era.

  • Keynote Speech: Developing Scientific Literacy in the AI Era

A highlight of the forum was the keynote address delivered by Nobel Laureate Professor Randy W. Schekman from the University of California, Berkeley. Speaking on Developing Scientific Literacy in the AI Era, Professor Schekman underscored the urgency of preparing students for a world shaped by intelligent technologies.

AI is transforming how students learn, and how we understand science itself,” he noted. “The next generation must be equipped with critical thinking, interdisciplinary fluency, and the capacity to apply knowledge in new and meaningful ways.

  • Building the Ecosystem: Partnerships and Platforms

The forum also marked the launch of the AI Intelligent Equipment Industry Alliance, co-initiated by ASI Global and the Suzhou Innovation Research Institute of Nanjing University, aiming at connecting scientific research, real-world applications, and talent development across sectors such as smart manufacturing, robotics, and diagnostics.

Official Launch of the AI Intelligent Equipment Industry Alliance

As part of its AI + Education initiatives, ASI Global signed several strategic cooperation agreements during the forum. These included research-industry-education collaborative projects and AI + smart education equipment partnerships. New agreements were formalized with New Oriental, Vision Intelligence of iFlytek, WhalesBot, etc., focusing on the development of intelligent teaching tools and the integration of AI technologies into real-world learning environments, expecting to build practical, scalable solutions that bridge advanced research and everyday education.

  • Roundtable Dialogues: The Future of Learning

The forum featured two roundtable sessions: Employment in the AI Era: Aligning Talent with Industry Needs and Science Literacy for Youth: New Pathways for Future Innovators and Education.

In both discussions, panelists highlighted the need to rethink how education prepares students for a world shaped by AI. Rather than focusing solely on tools or technologies, they called for a shift toward more flexible, interdisciplinary learning models that foster critical thinking, adaptability, and real-world problem-solving. Participants agreed that deeper integration between education and industry will be key to developing talent that can thrive in fast-changing environments.
